Hainan Brocade and Embroidery World Culture Week kicked off

On June 28, the 2022 (2nd) Hainan Brocade and Embroidery World Culture Week (hereinafter referred to as the “Culture Week”) kicked off in Haikou, capital of South China’s Hainan province. Themed “Inheriting, Innovating and Creating a Brilliant World” as the 2020 first Cultural Week did, this Cultural Week takes a broader view and brings together excellent works made by employing traditional weaving, embroidering, printing and dyeing techniques from all parts of the country, so as to promote cultural exchanges in the brocade and embroidery field. The opening ceremony was held against a backdrop of the exquisitely designed Wormhole Library. At night, an entirely new sort of fashion show named “Access to Clothing for All” was presented to Haikou citizens and tourists.
The “Brocade and Embroidery World—The First Exhibition of Intangible Cultural Heritage Traditional Textile Techniques: Weaving, Embroidering, Printing, and Dyeing, 2022”, a highlight of the Cultural Week, opened at the Haikou Convention and Exhibition Factory that morning.
