On August 1, the Organizing Committee of the Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) announced that the 4th HIIFF will be held this December in Sanya, Hainan. Applications for the Golden Coconut Award will be accepted from 10:00 on July 21, 2022 to 24:00 (UTC+8:00) on September 26, 2022. Nominees will be announced in early November. Prize winners will be announced during the 4th HIIFF.　　

The latest progress and plans for this year's HIIFF will be announced through the Hainan Island International Film Festival's official website, WeChat, and Weibo accounts.　　

The Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) is co-hosted by the China Media Group and the People’s Government of Hainan Province, under the guidance of the China Film Administration. HIIFF is dedicated to strengthening international film and culture exchange and collaboration, promoting innovative development in the film industry, and fostering creativity in filmmaking. The Awards, hosted by the China Media Group, have three categories: Feature-length Film, Feature-length Documentary, and Short Film. A jury of professionals from the international film and cultural community will select outstanding talent and films for awards in various categories.
